Muhammad Shahzad is the founding member of Chanan Development Association (CDA). He is a young leader working with other young change agents, peer educator and leaders since 1999. He has done his masters in Political Science and devoted himself to empower young people in Pakistan and making CDA as the MODEL YOUTH LEAD Organization.
He has represented Chanan Development Association (CDA) at 15 International Forums as well as hundreds of national platforms. He has vast experience in the fields of health/reproductive health, child sexual abuse, gender mainstreaming, violence against women, peace promotion, interfaith harmony, democracy and human rights as well as Interactive Theatre, Peer Education, and Advocacy campaigning.
Beside CDA, he is a founding member of Youth Peer Education Network (Y-PEER) in Pakistan and currently serving the network as National Coordinator. He is also a founding member of many other youth organizations (networks) including Youth Advocacy Network on SRHR Pakistan, Provincial Youth Assemblies, Youth and Culture of PEACE Network.. He is also part of Youth Parliament of Pakistan, National Youth Task Force on SRHR by World Population Foundation (WPF) Pakistan; British Council of Pakistan’s Active Citizens lead Facilitator and supporting Youth Advisory Panel of UNFPA.
In 2009, he has been awarded by YouthActionNet Fellowship of International Youth Foundation (IYF), United States as well as granted MTV Staying Alive Foundation’s Award along with the Youth Solidarity Fund (YSF) of United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAoC). He has also met many World Leaders including Mr. Banki Moon (UN Secretary General).
Recently he has become one of the “Youth Ambassadors” of World Population Foundation (WPF) Pakistan’s “Safe Motherhood Campaign”.
